This is a follow up to my first Lego Bowl (seen here). The first one was more of a proof of concept. I made this one to address the issues the internet had with it.

I've been making colored pencils bowls for years now and decided to film the process from mold to finished colored pencil bowl. You'll notice in the beginning that there is a larger mold that's sliced up into 3 sections. I make one mold and it turns into 3 bowls. Since it's handturned, not every bowl is the exact same. Watch the video below. This is from DIY Crafts on facebook. They took my original video and edited it for their site. At the time of posting here it has over 2 million views. The comments absoultly blast me for 'wasting' all the colored pencils. Guess what, they were dontated by Positive Art US! I am a little upset about the gaps in the black Fuji letters. I poured the resin too deep at one shot and it cracked under the heat. I wasn't sure how to fix it. This was a first try, so you live and you learn. Views are views right?
-Ben Want to watch the original video? Watch below. I needed a mobile workbench for my heavy CNC machine. It's a shop build, so I don't want to spend a lot of time or money on it. I needed something quick and easy. I focused on making this build accessible to everyone's skill level and easy on the wallet. You could make this with only a drill and circular saw. I'll walk you through how to build it step by step. Total build time is around 1 hour. I built this to size specifically for my Carbide 3D Shapeoko XXL CNC machine, but you can put anything you'd like on it. It's perfect for the small shop where space is a premium. |
