My Black And Yellow Laser is now OMTECH

You remember my big black and yellow co2 laser right?  Remember this video?
How could you forget?  It's been one of the single greatest purchases in my shop to date.  A year later, and I still think it's worth every penny spent.
Now that purchase is even better.  Orion Motor Tech (the Chinese company that makes it) now has a US presence and an impressive website.  They are now called OMTECH.
Visit OMTECH
There's now a little bit more to the purchase power when buying their machine.  They have a good selection of training and installation videos on their site.  They also have tech support in the USA and will help you get the machine up and running.  It's great to see a company step up and provide after purchase care to their customers.  They also have a great amount of accessories on their site as well.  Check them out today.

Onefinity Router Cable Vacuum Hose Boom

If you've watched me beta test the Onefinity CNC Woodworker over the last 6 months you've probably asked yourself, what are you going to do with the router cable?  It just drags behind the machine.  Or, are you going to hang your vacuum hose from the ceiling with a bungee cord like before?  These are valid questions.  One I've been struggling with.  Thankfully, an Etsy user came up with a solution (before I did, congrats man).  The Vacuum and router hose boom.

RowdyRoman came up with this little arm that attaches to any of the 4 corners of the Onefinity CNC machine.  Since the woodworker and machinist editions use the same feet, it can be used on either machine.  I installed mine on the back left of my enclosure, as that's where I have the hole for my router/spindle wires and vacuum cord.  The hole of the base piece is slightly oversized to allow the arm to swivel when the machine moves in the extreme 4 points.  There's a channel down the middle for the power cord to sit, and the vacuum sits right on top of that channel.  If you have a permanent vacuum for the CNC, there are slots for a zip tie to attache the hose and cable so they will not fall off.
If you're like me and you use your vacuum for more than one tool in the wood shop, there are clips that can be used instead of zip ties.  There are different sized clips for different sized hoses.  I use the FEIN turbo 1 (a great vac I highly recompensed ).  The clips also eliminate the need for zip ties as they cover the slot the holds the power cord for the spindle.  It's a great option for those who want a quick on and off solution.
The Router Cable is on of those items that I think are a MUST buy with the Onefinity CNC.  It's the perfect solution for cable and hose management.  Check out RowdyRomans video below on how it's used:

Onefinity CNC Touch Probe Holder

Just like when I used the Shapeoko, the Onefinity CNC supports touch probes.  Onefinity sells their own branded 3 axis touch probe that will zero x, y, and z.  Of course, where do you store it?  Rowdy Roman came up with a touch probe holder that's uniquly different from anything else i've seen out there.   It includes a hidden magnet in the base to hold the magnetic clip that attaches to the router collet.  It's a simple and elegant solution which means I no longer have to fumble around with getting the cable just right in the holder.  It has two screw holes or you can just attach it with the best tape in the world, 3m VHB.  This is a must have if you invest in the Onefinity Probe.

Purchase it here:
