Also, Cotys episode of the TV show, Small Business Revolution (episode 3) finally released, and we catch up on how that has affected his business.

Meredith Palmer isn't your typical college student. She already owns a business called Palmer's Designs. Starting out designing shoes, she now does everything from paintings, to digital art, to live wedding paintings.
Palmer’s Designs is a product of my contemporary and impressionistic style. While she mostly paint on canvas or paper, she has done a wide variety of projects. She loves painting abstracts, as well as landscapes and animals. Her love for bright-bold colors is what makes her art unique. She have done lots of work for local businesses and friends, and have recently been featured in the New York Art Gallery’s website. She specializes in larger-scale works, as well as in-home (or business) consultations. She is a certified Shutterstock contributor, featured on interior design website Houzz, and was nominated for Student Entrepreneur of the Year for NAWBO in 2016. Ever wonder what it takes to be a blacksmith? In this episode our guest host is Daniel Casey of Casey Arms.
Daniel had his own show on The History Channel called Iron & Fire and was also a contestant on the hit TV show Forged In Fire. (will it cut?) Listen as Daniel shares how he makes traditional, one of a kind, completely hand crafted rifles, pistols, and blades. Thanks for listening! Find Daniel at his website http://www.caseyarms.com/ and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CaseyXArms/ As always, you can find us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/thebuildguildpodcast/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thebuildguildpodcast Prefer to watch online? The touch probe from Carbide 3D is pretty expensive. I've found an alternate for 1/2 the price on Amazon. It works just as well. The one difference is that it does not have a green and red light indication (but this is not necessary for it to function). This alternative CNC Touch Probe can be used with Shapeoko 3 that use Carbide Motion. Can also be used on other CNC routers on control software that support a probe with the standard .100 (2.54mm) connector spacing. The probe supports 4 different types of probing XYZ (otherwise known as corner probing), X (to find the left edge of your material), Y (to find the front edge of your material), and Z (to find the top of your material. Can be used on Nomad 883 Pro as well, but this will require removing or rewiring the tool height sensor. Since that connection is also plugged into the 2 pin PROB connector. The kit includes aluminum probe plate a 60” cord to connect to the control board and 10 inch wire alligator clips. Features:
BUY IT USING THE BUTTON BELOW: If you need a way to store your touch probe, I 3D print a touch probe holder. You can find it on my Etsy shop, benmyerswoodshop or click the link below to purchase one!
When you think of graffiti artist what comes to mind? For me, it's graffiti on a train. This week, we sit down with Jason White of Whites Artworks and talk about his beginnings of tagging trains to cites hiring him to put murals on the side of whole city blocks. His latest mural at the time of recording is a mural commissioned by Hulu's TV show (that Coty stars in) Main Street : Small Business Revolution on the side of a building in the town of Searcy, Arkansas. He talks with us about over coming the fear of taking the leap of faith in yourself to become a small business and trust in your creative abilities.
You can find Jason on Instagram at @WhitesArtworks and Facebook at @WhitesArtworks. You can also listen to his own Podcast, The Overspray Podcast. Hint: Lasers! Ben and Brian went in together to purchase a 60w chinese laser (Orion Motor Tech 60w Laser Cutter). Lots of learning about how to use it has been going on. They did an unboxing and assembly on YouTube which can be watched HERE. Coty STILL has more filming for the TV show to do. Coty shares how he met his wife in a hospital. Coty and Ben discuss how they were paramount in helping guest host Make. Do. in their recent shop move. The guys also discuss Searcy's Art Alley, a alley with rotating artworks from local artists. TOOLS / MATERIALS ■ Laser Cutter : https://amzn.to/2KUWIg0 Purchase The Orion Motor Tech 60w Laser Cutter Engraver From Amazon:
Many of you know that I've had the J Tech 4.2w Laser add on for my Shapeoko XXL CNC machine for a while now. While it works great its just to under powered and slow to be a real workhorse. That's no fault to J Tech. It's fairly powerful for a diode laser, but diodes are not meant to be production mode devices. After a lot of deliberation and internet research, I decided to purchase a Chinese Laser. I decided on the Orion Motor Tech 60 watt chinese laser yellow and black (upgraded version from the black and red version) color. An american made laser was just not in the budget so I took the gamble on a Chinese laser. I know and have zero experience with a CO2 laser so I thought I'd do some blog posts to help others in my similar situation. In this episode of The Build Guild Podcast, the guys have the privilege of interviewing John Godwin of the wildly popular A&E tv show Duck Dynasty. Godwin is part of the Duck Commander Family.
